The International Materials Handling Conference Beltcon 18 was held on August 5th and 6th at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. This prestigious event is now in its 35th year and is recognized worldwide as a valuable resource in bringing the very latest developments in material handling to decision makers, designers, engineers and manufacturers in the mining and materials handling industry. Interesting, controversial and up-to-date minute case studies, new data, products, the latest technology were presented by some of the most renowned international conveying specialists.

Beltcon drew on the expertise of distinguished speakers from academia, researchers, professional engineers working in the field and hands-on conveying experts who presented two days of informative and absorbing materials handling and conveying information. Martin was privileged to also have a paper submitted by Managing Director of South Africa, Hannes Kotze and Mechanical Designer, Fritz Kotze. The paper focused on belt wear and energy consumption of conveyor belt accessories. This was very well received and highlighted Martin's innovative focus on progress and efforts to improve products for the future.

Martin participated in the exhibition as well displaying new products like the Martin® Pin Latch Cleaner, Martin® QB1™ Cleaner, Martin® Roller Tracker and the EVO® High Speed Roller Cradle.
